PR!

Sorry I've been a bit M.I.A the last few days; it was my 17th yesterday and my first Saturday off work in over year so I haven't been around much! Got a few things lined up this week so should be posting something a little more of note in the coming days but right now I just have a bit of a plea. If you work in PR, know someone who does, are taking a Uni course on it or are in any way a teensy bit knowledgeable then I'd be really interested to speak to you. I want to do Public Relations at University starting September 2013 and my favourite at the moment is Bournemouth which needs ABB. Which is just not going to happen and pretty much all the decent ones I've seen either want three B's or the same grades as Bournemouth, plus work experience and general knowledge of the industry. And I'm pretty stressed over it all to be honest, I really just have no idea what to do and so if you would like to be lovely and speak to me then please please do, my email address is georgia-alyssa-x@hotmail.co.uk (don't laugh).

The work experience place is what really riles me, nowhere seems to offer opportunities to get experience but everyone wants you to have it! Arghhh.

Dos!

As promised, I got some snaps of the wraps on my nails and they do look pretty cool!

Nail Wraps- £4.50, ASDA  Jumper- £8, Primark
I used a nail buffer to make sure there were no traces of left over nail varnish on and then peeled each sticker off and applied. They go down in size so there's no need to trim and no heat needed- even my clumsy self managed to get the full set on in about 10 mins! As you can see from the previous pictures they're slightly rounded at one end which is the end you place by the cuticle, you then smooth it up and file off the excess- a lot easier than I had imagined, it just falls away. The sizing was perfect, they looked a little big in width but I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit, there's honestly no gaps at the sides at all! I put a clear top coat on after and found they were still soft for an hour or so after but not really that bad. After 24hrs with them on there's a small amount of chippage on the top of the thumb and forefingers but nothing noticeable and all day at 6th form people were asking where they were from and wowing. You get 12 in the pack so two left for mistakes but you could also make them last longer by using one or two at a time as accent nails which would look pretty cool. Overall, for £4.50 and a really bright and unique design I can see myself buying them again- I'll update this post in a few days time and let you know how long they last for!

Off out to Prezzo and a desserts restaurant tonight so I'll try and get an outfit picture, my actual birthday isn't till Sunday but thank you all for the messages already, tis very kind!

Numero Uno

This post is part one of two, I'm going to be applying my aztec nail wraps tomorrow before I go out for my birthday meal and so I will let you all know how it goes!

I've always been more of a nails rather than make-up girl, purely because my nails are always a decent length and very strong! I've never worn any kind of fake nails but at the rate my own grown there doesn't seem to be much point and it means I can happily change colours every few days- as you'll see by my currently polka dotted ones on the corners of the pictures! However I've never tried nail wraps before so I'm a bit nervous about application; they look very wide for my dinky nails but at £4.50 for a design I've never seen before I thought I'd better give it whirl! Any tips for me?

Petit Petit

As a petite girl in height and body shape, it can literally be a nightmare trying to find stuff that actually fits me properly, I usually just have to say that'll do! With Newlook I often find some of their styles are cut in a more boxy fit which doesn't really work either with my lack of boobs! And while Topshop/Miss Sefridge/Dorothy Perkins etc have a petite range, Newlook don't and so when I saw that their 'Teen' section went up to age 15 I decided to see how that would fit as a petites section. On the Newlook website size guide, age 15 clothing should fit a bust 88cm, waist 70cm and lower hip 94cm, exactly the same measurements as a size 10, again on their own measurement tables. I think if you were around the 5'3 mark and slim in the sense of you don't have a particularly large bust, most of the items would fit. These are a few of my faves from the website;

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
...you couldn't see the full leggings in the boxes so they get their own dedication! The similar pair in the large picture are actually cycling short length so the bottom of the picture is actually how long they are. Shoes in the Teen section go up to a respectable adults size 7 and price wise I couldn't ask for anything more, not a single item of the ones I've posted are over £20 and you'll be pushed to find a lot of items over that in the whole collection. Not all the pieces in their range are as good as these, obviously there are some marketed towards the lower end of the age range but a quick look threw up quite a good selection of pieces- deff ordering those leggings! Question now is do I get full length or cut off, or be cheeky and order both?! ;)

Blame the Weather

Any other UK-ers wondering what's up with the weather lately? It's gone from snow, to t shirt and leggings weather, to being freezing cold and extremely windy in the space of about two weeks! How's a girl meant to decide what to wear?!  Managed to snap this quick one of the sky earlier though which looked pretty nice,

Sadly my outfits of the day have been nothing to shout about recently, and while it's not really an excuse I'm going to blame the weather! My 6th form is a consortium so I travel between different schools in my area depending on what lesson I have and each of my subjects are at different schools. So every lunch time I have to wait for a bus in the cold with no bus shelter, get to another school and then figure out how to get home either by another bus or a minimum 45min walk, funnnn! As much as I'd like to wear nice skirts, shoes and tights every day I'd rather not die of frostbite so probably until the end of the month I'll just be hibernating in leggings, ankle boots and jumpers as I have been. It's so frustrating seeing bloggers wearing such lovely clothes ad actually having the time/places to wear them! Take heels or heeled boots, it just doesn't look right on the average 17 year old to go out wearing anything other than flats, I don't mean because it looks 'slutty' or anything but it just doesn't look right! I think it's something that comes with age, like hats and asymmetrical skirts. Or is that just me haha!

Bikini Woe

Is it just me that's getting a lot of bikini woe at the moment? The shops seasons are always about a half to a season ahead, meaning that everywhere is getting in their main summer stock now and by June/July it will all be gone. So I've been looking for a few nice bikinis for my holiday in the summer and I have a few of the tie up ones already but want one with a little more support- either a cup shape or clip up neck or back. But every one I've seen that's nice only starts from about a C cup! And as much as I'd like to be able to wear one that size, sadly not, but it doesn't mean that I don't want that style!

Exhibit A- Asda

Exhibit B- Tesco

I'd understand if they were the specific 'Fuller bust' type but they were not! I even asked people that worked in each of the stores if they actually did those sizes and perhaps the smaller were all out of stock- but I was told that as a rule, tie up ones cater for all sizes, cups only for bigger. Frustrating X10!

Rant over. Got a good/bad/scary week ahead, get my law exam results on Thursday, 2 new cake flavours to test on Friday at school then off to Prezzo and a dessert restaurant with my friends in the evening, my first Saturday in 1 and a half years I've had off work (!) and then my birthday Sunday! In between all that I'm going to try and get some outfit pics/posts done, I have no time on the actual days to take pictures, I'm always rushed! & also big thanks to anyone taking the time to comment/follow/view my page, can't explain how much it makes me smile when I see those so thank you all!

Not just a blah average or shitola day

Not very often you go home and think that you've actually had a good day, not just a blah average or shitola day so was quite a rarity for me to have one of those days today! Maybe its got something to do with that Friday feeling but although school work wise productivity was at a low, general life levels were nice and high.

Think I've briefly said before that for extra UCAS points and just as a little bit extra for our Personal Statements for Uni we can do an Extended Project Qualification; so you pick anything at all and turn it into a project really. Some people are doing reports, sports analysis, fundraising days and I'm making a dessert recipe  book so of course all potential cakes must be tested! So Cake Friday has come about once more and this week I made a chocolate fudge cake and strawberry cream cupcakes. I have to sell them for a small amount to cover costs and these literally flew off the plates and had good reviews which was vair nice :)

I signed up at school to take a Fitness Instructor Course that was being run, bit of a sports nut so I was so up for it until we got told that we were going to miss a weeks worth of lessons for it which I sadly just couldn't do. But then this morning we got told in the last week of term there's an extra one being put on meaning I can do it, miss no lessons and have a pretty chilled last week of school. Oh yeeeah.

Also started thinking about uni courses and beyond, my plan is slightly complicated so I'll explain another time. Work tomorrow, I neeeeeed to get some stuff on uniform but I just can't find anything. Curse working in a small Topshop. Meeting up with my friends tomorrow to sort out a load of stuff for our holiday, it's all booked  but we have very important matters to discuss- who's bringing the straighteners, do we need holiday t shirts and when are we going bikini shopping?! Difficult decisions right there.

XOXO
